Zwolle vs Feyenoord

Zwolle vs Feyenoord

The hosts were among the strongest sides in the division in the first
half of the campaign, but murmurs of a potential Champions League
challenge quickly faded after a terrible run since the winter break (W2,
D1, L6).

Players to watch: Mustafa Saymak (PEC) is having his strongest season
yet in front of goal (ten goals) – he has three in his last six
Eredivisie appearances.

Feyenoord have lost their last three away games but they were drawing at
half time in each of those.

The international break is nearly upon us but not before Feyenoord’s
visit to Zwolle, as the weekends Eredivisie action is rounded off with
this interesting clash between two sides in the top seven.

Feyenoord are not in much better form themselves, as the defending
Champions are essentially playing the rest of the season out in the
Europa League qualification spots.

Five of Feyenoord’s last six games, home and away, have seen over 2.5
goals in total (Eredivisie).

Nicolai Jorgensen (FEY) broken his ten-game goal drought last week and
now has eight for the season.

There is a great deal of unrest amongst Feyenoord fan groups with
protests being performed in recent games about the “Feyenoord City”
stadium plans. Another feisty crowd will be in attendance here.

It is a miracle that Zwolle remain in the European play off spots as
they are currently amongst the worst form sides in the league, without a
win in their last five games (D1, L4).

Stat attack: Feyenoord dominate the historical head to head between the
sides. They have won 64% of encounters (11 of 17) whilst Zwolle boast
just four wins (23.5%). However, this season’s reverse saw a tremendous
defensive performance from Zwolle to earn a draw.

The Rotterdammers have lost three of their last five Eredivisie games,
two of which were against other top-seven sides.
